Summary: We took a small ride to the edge of the forest from the Caves Branch resort. we did a hard uphill trek for an hour to the top of the drop. Alex our guide was fantastic and told us lots about the forest and history. The abseiling set up was extremely safe and the descent was just stunning like being lowered into a lost world. We were a small group of 4 so we had time to scramble around the cave and see Mayan writing and some broken pots. we had a very tasty lunch spread out like a picnic in the cave. a ladder led us up then we picked up the same trail back. it was a very special and exhilarating trip.
